When & where is the event held?
The 2018 Sydney St Medical Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run will run from 6am - approximately 9am on Sunday the 28th of July. All runs will commence and finish at Iluka Park. The 21.1km timeslot will be advised, with16km runners commencing at approximately 6:30am, 8km runners at 6:50am, 5km runners at 7:05am and the Dog Walk will commence at 7:15am.
When can I get my race bag?
Your race packs are choc-a-block full of goodies from our sponsors and local businesses - and they also contain your race shirts! Race packs can be collected individually or by a nominated team member. We ask that you please collect your race bags on one of the following days from 4 Heidi Street, Paget:
Thursday 25th July – 8:30am – 6pm
Friday 26th July – 8:30am – 6pm
Saturday 27th July 8:30am – 12pm
Last minute race bag collection will be available on Sunday morning.
Will there be any pitstops?
Absolutely! Our amazing volunteers and race day staff will be set up at the 5km, 8km, 16km and half marathon turnaround spots and we will have pitstops along the way. There will be plenty of water, extra sunscreen, mosquito repellent, snacks and more at each pitstop.
What is the registration fee?
Early Bird Registration from 9am Wednesday 1 April - Midday Friday 31 May:
$15 per dog for the dog walk
$45 per person for teams
$50 for individuals
General Registration from Midday Friday 31 May - 5pm Thursday 25 July:
$20 per dog for the dog walk
$50 per person for teams
$55 for individuals
Online registration closes at 5pm on Thursday 25 July. Participants who wish to register after this time may do so at the registration tent from 5am on Sunday 28 July. Last minute registration will promptly close at 6:20am.
Is the Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run a race?
No – the event is not a race - The aim is to have fun and raise money for charity! However, you will be provided with a unique timing chip should you wish to view your time at the end of the run.
What happens when I’m finished?
At the end of your run, you will be able to relax and unwind by grabbing a coffee from Woodmans Axe, and a massage from a trained sports masseuse. Prize announcements for top fundraisers and the winner of our registration competition will be announced just before 9am.
Is running compulsory?
Running is not compulsory! The Beach to Gardens fun run is designed so that all competitors of all fitness levels can participate in the event. Participants are encouraged to walk, jump, crawl, run, hop, skip or jog at your own pace to the finish line.
Can I bring my child in a pram?
Yes! We'd love for your whole family to get involved. You may reigster your family as a 'team' to receive a discounted registration rate.
Is there an age limit for competitors?
No, however all children under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Am I allowed to change my mind on the day and take a longer/shorter course?
Yes – please let us know upon sign in of any changes
Will there be parking available?
Yes – you are welcome to use the parking facilities nearby Iluka Park.
