1. When & where is the event held?

The 2021 One Stop Medical Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run will run from 6am to approximately 9am on Sunday the 25th of July. All runs will commence and finish at Iluka Park.

21.1km – 6:30am
16km – 6:45am
8km – 7:00am
5km – 7:15am

2. When can I get my run bag?

Your run packs are choc-a-block full of goodies from our sponsors and local businesses – and they also contain your run shirts! Run packs can be collected individually or by a nominated team member. We ask that you please collect your run bags on one of the following days from CQ Rescue, 16 Mike Jones Street, Mackay Airport:

Thursday 20th July – 4:00pm – 7:00pm                                                                                                                                                                  Friday 21st July – 8:30am – 6:00pm
Saturday 22nd July – 9:00am to 11:00am

3. Will there be any pitstops?

Absolutely! Our amazing volunteers and run day staff will be set up at the 5km, 8km, 16km and half marathon turnaround spots and we will have pitstops along the way. There will be plenty of water, extra sunscreen, mosquito repellent, snacks and more at each stop.

4. What is the registration fee?

Online registration closes at 12 noon on Friday 7th July. Participants who wish to register after this time may do so at the registration tent between 5:30am and 7:00am on Sunday 23rd July, at least 30 minutes prior to your nominated race start time (please see start times above).

6. Is the Beach to Gardens Charity Fun Run a race?

No – the event is not a race – the aim is to have fun and raise money for charity! However, you will be provided with a unique timing chip should you wish to view your time at the end of the run.

7. What happens when I’m finished?

At the end of your run, you will be able to relax and unwind by grabbing a coffee and a massage from a trained sports masseuse. Fastest runners of each course will be announced at 8:30am.

8. Is running compulsory?

Running is not compulsory! The Beach to Gardens Fun Run is designed so that all competitors, of all fitness levels can participate in the event. Participants are encouraged to walk, jump, crawl, run, hop, skip or jog at your own pace to the finish line.

9. Can I bring my child in a pram?

Yes! We’d love for your whole family to get involved. You may register your family as a ‘team’ to receive a discounted registration rate. Please keep in mind however that the paths on the Bluewater Trail are not very wide and to be considerate of returning runners who may be running competitively.

10. Is there an age limit for competitors?

No, however all children under 16 will be required to be accompanied by a responsible adult/guardian. If you are wanting to register younger runners up to the age of 12, please contact our team at

11. Am I allowed to change my mind on the day and take a longer/shorter course?

Yes – please let us know at least 30 minutes prior to your nominated run.

12. Will there be parking available?

Yes – you are welcome to use the parking facilities nearby Iluka Park. This is a residential area however and we ask that you be considerate of parking near driveways.
